The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing our base of customer clients and ensuring qualified tenants lease our rental properties. This position is key to achieving the business objectives of Real Property Management. The role is responsible for building connections through integrity and leadership and for creating and maintaining trust in our expertise. Total Compensation starts at $50,000 and can go up to $300,000 a year or more.


  • Developing a prospective new client base and signing new management clients
  • Developing and presenting professional sales proposals
  • Taking incoming phone leads and nurturing these leads through signed contracts
  • Visiting client properties and delivering high-level proposals
  • Managing sales CRM tool to ensure accurate tracking of all leads from inception through conversion
  • Attending monthly investor club meetings and participating in local organizations as it relates to investor rental property
  • Attending trade shows and industry organizations to network and promote the Real Property Management brand
  • Acting as the spokesperson for Real Property Management
  • Performing rental property listing appraisals
  • Showing properties to potential renters
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all listing appraisals and new business
  • Managing new business documentation and files
  • Generating Lease Contracts
  • Obtaining and providing property and client information to portfolio management team members
  • Marketing to potential new owners
  • Attending and participating in office meetings
  • Attending and participating in training sessions as directed by the Manager
  • Adhering to all procedures required in this role
  • Providing feedback for and participating in continuous improvement of procedures and processes
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results

The Business Development Manager is highly organized with strong time management skills and an understanding of prioritization. Naturally driven to create new relationships and to instill trust, the Business Development Manager is a fearless networker, with excellent negotiation skills and a track record of proven leadership and results.


  • Five or more years proven and verifiable success in selling managed services contracts
  • Top-tier prospect development and presentation skills
  • Managing referrals across departments
  • Computer proficiency—Microsoft Office
  • Local area knowledge
  • Valid Drivers License


  • Find new clients to target

  • Base Salary $2000/mo
  • Car Allowance $250/mo
  • Phone allowance $30/mo
  • Unlimited Commission

Total Compensation starts at $50,000 and can go up to $300,000 a year or more.

Working Hours Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm, weekend appointments as necessary. Constant travel between St.Mary’s, Charles and Calvert Counties required.

  • Sales/Property Management/Real Estate: 3 years

Required license or certification:

  • Drivers License
  • Maryland Real Estate License Preferred but not required

Required education:

  • High school or equivalent
